As your constituent, I urge you to support the Clean Cloud Act (S.1475).
My energy bills have gone up — and so have those of my neighbors. Across our state, families are paying more each month while large data centers and cryptomining facilities move in and drive up demand on our power grid. Utilities are struggling to keep up, and the costs are being passed down to us, the ratepayers.
The Clean Cloud Act is a practical way to balance the goals of tech innovation, climate safety, and energy affordability. It would make sure that large-scale energy users like data centers and cryptominers, invest in new, efficient, and renewable power sources instead of relying on the limited supply of gas and coal generation that is failing to meet demand. This will help keep energy affordable, protect local reliability, and strengthen our region’s energy independence.
Please stand with your constituents by supporting the Clean Cloud Act — and ensure that the next wave of innovation doesn’t come at the expense of our household budgets and natural resources.
