Green Financing Has No Color: Support Equitable Climate Funding
Climate change is not a distant threat — it is already here and low-income, Black, and Brown communities have been suffering its effects at a higher rate, and with more severe consequences than their wealthier, white counterparts for far too long. It's time for action.
Historic patterns of systematic racism in government funding should not continue, and you have the power to change that.
With the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), we’ve finally got the climate dollars we need, but that doesn't mean they will reach the areas that need it most like like low-income, Black, and Brown communities which are often overlooked and left out of the growing green economy.
IRA funding has tripled federal government spending on climate and clean energy. But righting the wrongs of systematic racism in climate means focusing on climate justice, driving investments to vulnerable communities on the frontlines of the climate crisis, and shaping clean-energy policy to center equity.
Join us in demanding that the U.S. Government disburse climate funds equitably, and ensure that those most affected by climate change are prioritized.
