We respectfully submit the following recommendations to the White House Council on Environmental Quality on the vision, framework, and outcomes of the Environmental Justice Scorecard:
- Create data-driven measurements for an effective grading system: You cannot manage what you do not measure. As such, transparent data-driven performance measures are critical.
- Include health and economics in the Environmental Justice Scorecard: Harm reduction, such as health and economic burdens, are important markers of progress that should be included.
- Ensure Agency Transparency and Accountability: Transparency of the federal government activities is crucial to measure the full impact of each Agency on environmental justice.
